Co-Creating Spaces for Healing and Authenticity with Stephany Coleman, LPC

This week we are connecting with Stephany Coleman, Licensed Professional Counselor over at Chill Counseling!

Tell us about your business—what you do, what inspired you to start, what makes it unique, and how it impacts your community.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor living in DFW and working virtually as part of a collaborative and community-focused group private practice serving residents of Texas. I strive to co-create a space with clients that allows for healing from past harm and makes room for us to show up as our authentic selves. I do this by prioritizing consent and collaboration. I am honored to journey with individuals, partners –romantic, platonic, and business –and groups as they seek to (re)define who they are, (re)discover their voice, and (re)establish a harmonious connection. I especially enjoy working with sibling suicide loss survivors, Black women navigating singleness + infertility due to uterine fibroids, and people working to heal their relationship with money. We live in a world that is designed to create conditions where people suffer and live their lives trapped in survival mode. The impact and consequences are quite detrimental to our well-being, to the relationships we have with ourselves, with others, and the external world. I believe we deserve healing and space for thriving. Counseling can be one space to strategize how to resist injustice and rewrite our story to live more abundantly.

What products or services do you offer, which one would you like to highlight, and where can people purchase or book?

I currently offer individual and relational counseling to adults (18+) at CHill Counseling PLLC. I accept self-pay (debit/credit), The Loveland Foundation therapy vouchers, and the following insurance providers: Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare. Insurance is accepted for individual counseling only and are 53-minutes per session. We offer a limited number of reduced investment spots for clients with financial need. Feel free to schedule a complimentary 15 minute consultation at www.chillcounseling.com/stephany.

Describe your brand in three words, share a fun fact about your journey, and if it had a theme song, what would it be?

Intentional. Collaborative. Hopeful. My original plan was to become a lawyer then a judge. After taking an unexpected detour post graduation, I found my way into the counseling profession, starting my career at a local domestic violence organization and most recently in higher education at an HBCU. My current theme song would be Strength Courage & Wisdom by India Arie.

Anything else you want to share?

Known as “honey girl” to the sweetest Granny Gran you’d ever meet, I’m the proud daughter of social justice warriors, baby sister of two, big sister to one, and sisterfriend to an intimate circle of beloveds. Aunt is my favorite role of all! I love books, coffee, music, and belly laughs. I am endlessly curious about everything.
